A conversation about the highest quality reds would be incomplete without mentioning the Grenache of the Priorat, Cellers de Scala Dei.
The history and origin of Scala Dei dates back to 1194. It makes it one of the oldest wineries in the DOQ of Priorat in Spain.
A grenache that has journeyed from the altitude of the famous Priorat to the bottom of the sea.
It’s silky and round body suggests maturity, yet it’s fruity notes are incomparable to any other mature wines. Pure fruit, freshness, elegance, and depth.
It’s tannins were matured and softened by the constant gentle motion of the sea.
This wine should be paired with grilled meats, oily fish, cheese, Iberian ham &tapas.
